Marty Vindelis: Bass and Backing Vocals
In his many years of experience playing the bass Marty has covered a range of styles and he says that it’s an honour playing the music of his hero David Bowie. When he’s not playing in the Rebels, Marty plays electric and double bass in the fabulous 50s rock and roll band The Comet Rockers.
Matt Wigley: Keyboards, Acoustic and Electric Guitars and Backing Vocals
A superb multi-instrumentalist, Matt plays piano, synthesizer and acoustic and electric guitars as well as providing backing vocals.

Classically trained, Mel plays alto and tenor saxophones in Rebel Rebel as well as playing the violin. When Mel isn’t playing in the Rebels you will find her playing sax with 50s rock and roll band The Comet Rockers and hardworking ska band The Incredible Skank Brothers.
Jethro Butler: Lead Guitar
Jethro has played a wide range of music in bands over the years – from hard rock and metal to jazz and funk. He is a huge fan of David Bowie; ‘Low’ and ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust’ are the first two albums he ever owned. When he’s not playing in the Rebels, Jethro performs in acoustic duo Majordomo.
Dave Ashwin: Drums
Hugely experienced – a drummer and percussionist for over 30 years – covering many styles of music from rock to pop to country. When he’s not playing the Rebels you can find him playing drums for the excellent rock covers band The Given.
